The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven and the night-star! 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
