A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers). 2 [O men!] Follow what has been revealed to you from your Lord and follow no masters other than Him. Little are you admonished. 3 And how many a township We have destroyed, upon them Our violence came at night or while they were taking their midday rest. 4 Yet their cry, when Our punishment came to them, was nothing but that they said: Surely we were unjust. 5 So We shall question those unto whom a Message was sent, and We shall question the Envoys, 6 and We shall relate to them with knowledge; assuredly We were not absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 whereas those whose weight is light in the balance - it is they who will have squandered their own selves by their wilful rejection of Our messages. 9 We assuredly established you in the earth and arranged for your livelihood in it. Little do you give thanks. 10
