Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 And a guidance and grace for those who do good, 3 for those who attend to their prayers and pay the zakat and who have firm faith in the Hereafter: 4 They are on guidance from their Lord, and will prosper. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 therein to dwell forever -- God's promise in truth; and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
