Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
