The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
