The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 and by that (Power) which created the male and female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects goodness, 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Truly! Ours it is (to give) guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
