Al-Furqaan 6 of 6
Blessed is He Who made constellations in the skies, and placed therein a Lamp and a Moon giving light; 61 it is He who has made night and day succeed each other, a sign for those who would take heed and would be grateful. 62 And the servants of (Allah) Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth in humility, and when the ignorant address them, they say, "Peace!"; 63 And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer] 64 And who say: Our Lord! Avert from us the doom of hell; lo! the doom thereof is anguish; 65 Indeed it is a most wretched abode. 66 Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes); 67 Who do not invoke any god apart from God, who do not take a life which God has forbidden except for a cause that is just, and do not fornicate -- and any one who does so will be punished for the crime, 68 The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement; 69 But only those who repent and believe and act righteously will have their sins replaced by virtue; God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 70 And whosoever repenteth and worketh righteously, then verily he repenteth toward Allah with a true repentance. 71 Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance); 72 who, when reminded of the revelations of their Lord, do not try to ignore them as though deaf and blind. Rather, they try to understand and think about them. 73 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)." 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest heaven, for that they endured patiently, and they shall receive therein a greeting and --' Peace!' 75 Abiding therein; goodly the abode and the resting-place. 76 (Muhammad), say (to the disbeliever) "It does not matter to my Lord whether you worship Him or not. You have rejected His guidance and your punishment is inevitable." 77

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
