Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The day on which a friend shall not avail (his) friend aught, nor shall they be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
