The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
