۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 Some [of them] will say: "Behold, you were wont to approach us [deceptively] from the right!" 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 This is how We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah,- 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 (Sitting) on couches, face to face, 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 so delicate as the hidden peel under an egg's shell. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
