The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 there is no denying its coming 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 that will neither make the head throb, nor intoxicate, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Only a saying: "Peace, peace." 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and banana trees, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
