Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 And this surely is great evidence if you can understand -- 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 preserved in a hidden Book which 78 Only they can reach it who are clean (of mind). 79 It has been revealed by the Lord of all the worlds. 80 Is it such a talk (this Quran) that you (disbelievers) deny? 81 And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 and that hour you are watching 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 Wherefore then, if ye are not to be requited 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 So if he is one of those who are near-stationed (to Allah), 88 Then is relief, and flowers – and Gardens of peace. 89 And if he was of the companions of the right, 90 (he will be greeted with): 'Peace be upon you, Companion of the Right' 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water 93 and a roasting in Hell. 94 This is indeed the ultimate truth. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
