The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 When whither go ye? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
