Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Gross rivalry diverts you, 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 And once again: Nay, in time you will come to understand! 4 You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Again, ye shall see it with certainty of sight! 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
