And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 You and your fathers? 76 "For they are enemies to me; not so the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds; 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Verily herein is a sign, but most of them are not believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
