The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man. 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
