Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the loosed ones successively 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 and the severally severing 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
