The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few of later ages, 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 Other than "Peace, peace" the salutation. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 In shade long-extended, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit, abundant [and varied], 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 And made them virgins. 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
