Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Then I swear by the setting of the stars, 75 And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know. 76 it is indeed a Glorious Koran, 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 which none can touch except the purified. 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 and do you make it your living to cry lies? 82 Then how is it that when the (dying) breath is withdrawn into the throat (and rattles), 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 and We are nearer to him than you, although you cannot see Us -- 85 why then, if you are not revived, 86 Cause ye it not to return, if ye say sooth? 87 Then if the dying one is of those having proximity, – 88 Then happiness and bounty and a garden of bliss. 89 And if he is of those on the right hand, 90 it will be with the people of the right hand, living in peace and security. 91 But if one happens to be of those who are wont to call the truth a lie, and [thus] go astray, 92 there shall be a hospitality of boiling water 93 and the roasting in Hell. 94 This is indeed the indubitable truth. 95 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 96

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
