Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 and that “we would take up stations in the heaven to try to hear but anyone who now attempts to listen finds a shooting meteor in wait for him”; 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way (i.e. Islam) We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance. 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
