People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
