Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He is Oft-Forgiving, full of love (towards the pious who are real true believers of Islamic Monotheism), 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 In fact the disbelievers are in denial. 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
God the Almighty always says the truth.
