Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. 141 So the fish swallowed him while he did that for which he blamed himself 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not (so do) the Servants of Allah, sincere and devoted. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 If we had the account of earlier people with us, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But when it shall descend in their court, evil shall then be the morning of the warned ones. 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 179 Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! 180 And peace be unto those sent (to warn). 181 and all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
