Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
