Dawn (Al-Fajr)
30 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Night (Al-Layl) before The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Dawn, 1 And ten nights, 2 And by the even and the odd (of all the creations of Allah). 3 And by the night when it departeth, 4 is there not in this strong evidence for a man of sense? 5 Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad, 6 [the people of] Iram the many-pillared, 7 the like of which was never created in the land, 8 And with the Thamud (people), who cut out (huge) rocks in the valley?- 9 and with Pharaoh of the [many] tent-poles? 10 All of them committed excesses in their lands, 11 And made therein much mischief. 12 Thus, your Lord afflicted them with torment; 13 for, indeed, your Sustainer is ever on the watch! 14 So man, whenever his Lord tests him by giving him honour and favours thereupon he says, “My Lord has honoured me.” 15 whereas, whenever He tries him by straitening his means of livelihood, he says, "My Sustainer has disgraced me!" 16 No! But you do not honor the orphan 17 Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor, 18 And ye devour heritages with devouring greed. 19 and why do you have an excessive love of riches? 20 Nay, but when the earth is ground to atoms, grinding, grinding, 21 And thy Lord shall come with angels, rank on rank, 22 And when hell is brought that day on that day will man reflect, but where is the time now to think? 23 He will say: "Alas the woe! Would that I had sent ahead something in my life." 24 None punisheth as He will punish on that day! 25 Nor shall any bind with His bond. 26 'O soul at peace, 27 Return to your Lord well-pleased (with your blissful destination), well-pleasing (to your Lord). 28 So enter among My (righteous) servants 29 And enter into My garden. 30
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
