Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
