Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 We gave him back his family and doubled their number as a blessing from Us and as a reminder to the people of understanding. 43 and, 'Take in thy hand a bundle of rushes, and strike therewith, and do not fail in thy oath.' Surely We found him a steadfast man. How excellent a servant he was! He was a penitent. 44 Remember also Our servants Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- men of might they and of vision. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 and, in Our sight they were indeed among the select, the truly good! 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Reminder, and indeed for the cautious is a fine return, 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 in which they will recline, and call for abundant fruit and drink therein. 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is what is promised you for the Day of Reckoning. 53 (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish; 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 They shall roast in (the Fire) of Gehenna, an evil cradling. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other torments of similar kind, all together! 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say, "Our Lord, whoever brought this upon us - increase for him double punishment in the Fire." 61 And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
