Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
