The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human being 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
