The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great news - 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water, 14 That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 The Day of Judgment will certainly be the final appointment. 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30
