The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 Though you cannot desire except as God will, the Lord of all the worlds. 29
