The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And the foremost in the race, the foremost in the race: 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On lined couches, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Except the word peace, peace. 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and clustered bananas, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 And water gushing, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And carpets raised. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
