A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)

206 verses, revealed in Mecca after S (Saad) before Jinns (Al-Jinn)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ Alif Lam Mim Sad. 1 A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 We will certainly question the people and the Messengers sent to them. 6 So indeed We shall inform them with Our knowledge and We were not absent. 7 Truth alone will be of weight that Day. Those whose scales are heavy shall be successful, 8 but he whose scales are light those have lost their souls because they were harmful towards Our verses. 9 We have made you inhabit the land and provided you with the means of sustenance. Only a few of you give thanks. 10
