The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What will happen if the prohibiting rejects the Truth and turns away from it!? 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 By no means! If he desist not We shall seize and deal him by the forelock 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
