Believers, do not accept illegal interest in order to increase your wealth many times over. Have fear of God so that you will have everlasting happiness. 130 Guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for unbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Noble Messenger, hoping that you gain mercy. (Obeying the Prophet is in fact obeying Allah.) 132 ۞ Hasten to obtain forgiveness from your Lord and to qualify yourselves for Paradise. Paradise, vast as the heavens and the earth, is prepared for the pious 133 for those who spend, both in prosperity and adversity, who restrain their anger and are forgiving towards their fellow men -- God loves those who do good works. 134 who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God, and pray forgiveness for their sins -- and who shall forgive sins but God? -- and do not persevere in the things they did and that wittingly. 135 These it is who shall have as their reward forgiveness from their Sustainer, and gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: and how excellent a reward for those who labour! 136 Indeed there have been examples before you; therefore travel in the earth and see what was the end of the rejecters. 137 This is a declaration for mankind, a guidance and an admonition unto those who ward off (evil) 138 Do not be discouraged or grieved. You alone will have true dignity if you only are true believers. 139 If a wound touches you, a like wound already has touched the heathen; such days We deal out in turn among men, and that God may know who are the believers, and that He may take witnesses from among you; and God loves not the evildoers; 140 And that He may purge those who believe and deprive the unbelievers of blessings. 141 Did you think that you could go to Paradise before God knew which of you fought for His cause and which of you bore patience? 142 You were longing for death, before you met it. Now you have seen it with your own eyes. 143
