Aaron had already told them, "O my people! You are only being tested by this. Your Lord is the All Merciful, so follow me and obey my command." 90 They said "So long as Moses does not come back we are not going to give it up, and we will remain devoted to it." 91 Moses said to Aaron, "What prevented you, when you saw that they had gone astray, 92 from [abandoning them and] following me? Hast thou, then, [deliberately] disobeyed my commandment?" 93 He said: O son of my mother! Clutch not my beard nor my head! I feared lest thou shouldst say: Thou hast caused division among the Children of Israel, and hast not waited for my word. 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said: I saw (Jibreel) what they did not see, so I took a handful (of the dust) from the footsteps of the messenger, then I threw it in the casting; thus did my soul commend to me 96 (Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" 97 Your only deity is God, there is no deity but Him. His knowledge encompasses all things." 98 Thus We relate to you the history of past events, and We have given you a reminder [the Quran] from Us. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 they will abide in this [state,] and grievous for them will be the weight [of that burden] on the Day of Resurrection 101 On the day the Trumpet is blown; and We shall muster the sinners upon that day with eyes staring, 102 In whispers will they consult each other: "Yet tarried not longer than ten (Days); 103 We know well what they will utter, whereas the wisest among them will say, “You have stayed just for a day.” 104
