Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 and believe in His messages 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 who spend their property for the cause of God, and whose hearts are afraid of their return 60 those vie in good works, outracing to them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 Till, when We seize with the chastisement the ones of them that live at ease, behold, they groan. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 Or do they say that there is madness in him? Nay, he has brought them the Truth and it is the Truth that most of them disdain. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 And lo! thou summonest them indeed unto a straight path. 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
