We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 We gave them the enlightening Book, 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 This is how We reward those who do good: 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 Elias was certainly a Messenger. 123 Recall what time he said unto his people: fear ye not? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Except the chosen servants of Allah. 128 And We left his (memory) for posterity. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 This is how We reward the virtuous. 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And Lot too was one of the Messengers. 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind; 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 Verily, you pass by them in the morning. 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
