In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches." 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 And those that bring down the Reminder 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
