۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay: he has come with the truth and verified the apostles. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?” 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 its spathes are like the heads of satans 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 and We sent among them warners; 72 and behold, how was the end of them that were warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
