3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be unto Noah among the peoples! 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and when he said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 (In response to this prayer) We gave him the good news of a prudent boy; 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 This is indeed the manifest trial.' 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a Prophet and among the righteous ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
