Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. 147 and they believed. So We let them enjoy life for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 Not against Him can you cause (any) to fall into trial, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and see, and soon they too shall see. 175 Do they really wish to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And wait, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace upon the messengers. 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
Almighty God's Truth.
