Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 And whenever any Prophet came to them, they only mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
