Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 Which will neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a Garden on high, 10 In which they will not hear any lewd speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged! 15 and carpets outspread. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
