And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 so leave with your family some time in the latter part of the night, and walk behind them. Let none of you look back. Go where you are commanded." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 Verily there is a Sign in this for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
