Pray, "Lord, if you would show me that [the punishment] of which they have been warned, 93 "Then, O my Lord! put me not amongst the people who do wrong!" 94 We certainly have the power to show you what they have been warned about. 95 Dispel evil with what is good. We know well what they attribute (to Us). 96 And say, "My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils, 97 I even seek Your refuge, my Lord, lest they should approach me." 98 Till, when death comes to one of them, he says, 'My Lord, return me; 99 so that perhaps I shall act righteously for the rest of my life." Although he will say so but his wish will never come true. After death they will be behind a barrier until the day of their resurrection. 100 For when the Trumpet is blown, that day there shall be no kinship any more between them, neither will they question one another. 101 Only those whose scales are heavier in the balance will find happiness. 102 and those whose scales are light, those will be the ones who will have courted loss. They will abide in Hell. 103 The fire will scorch their faces and they will be groaning therein in pain. 104 "Were not My Signs rehearsed to you, and ye did but treat them as falsehood?" 105 They will answer, "Lord, misfortune overcame us and we became an erring people. 106 O our Lord! Take us out of it; then if we return (to evil) surely we shall be unjust. 107 He saith: Begone therein, and speak not unto Me. 108 Indeed, there was a party of My servants who said, 'Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful.' 109 But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them. 110 I have rewarded them this Day for their steadfastness, and it is they who have triumphed." 111 God will ask them, "How many years did you live in your graves?" 112 They will answer: "We have spent there a day, or part of a day; but ask those who [are able to] count [time]" 113 He will say, "You only stayed for a little while, if only you knew. 114 Deem ye that We have created you in vain and that unto Us ye are not to be returned? 115 Then high exalted be God, the King, the True! There is no god but He? the Lord of the noble Throne. 116 And the one who worships any other God along with Allah – of which he does not have any proof – his account is with his Lord; indeed there is no salvation for the disbelievers. 117 And say thou: my Lord! forgive and have mercy, and Thou art the Best of the merciful ones. 118
