۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 Saying: "It were you who imposed yourselves upon us." 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 So the sentence of our Lord has come to pass against us: (now) we shall surely taste; 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Truly, this is a great victory!" 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 its fruit [as repulsive] as satans' heads; 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
