The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 He hath created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
