The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
