Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 these are rightly guided by their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will live forever. It is the true promise of God. He is Majestic and All-wise. 9 He has created the skies without any support that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We sent down water from the skies, and thus We made every kind of excellent plant grow there: 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
